ARICCIA: The borgo of Ariccia was founded on a headland overlooking the Via Appia. It was historically famous for its roasted pork tradition—today known worldwide as Porchetta di Ariccia (savory, slow-roasted, herb-infused pork), which originates from ancient ritual sacrifices offered at the temple of Jupiter on nearby Monte Cavo. Here, you will enjoy a traditional lunch in an authentic Fraschetta (originally a local tavern serving wine and simple food).

In addition, you will discover the magnificent Palazzo Chigi in Ariccia, an extraordinary example of a Baroque ducal residence designed with the contribution of Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Richly decorated with original period furnishings, fine art, and lush surrounding parkland, the palace offers an immersive glimpse into the noble history of the Castelli Romani.

FRASCATI is perhaps the most famous of the Castelli Romani towns, renowned for its celebrated DOCG white wine, magnificent Ville Tuscolane, and a rich history stretching from pre-Roman times through the Middle Ages and the Renaissance to the present day.

Your culinary journey continues at the nearby Granfornaio Bakery with a tasting of Genzano’s celebrated PDO bread—world-famous for its rustic crust and rich flavor—complemented by freshly baked local pizza and local craft beer.
