It was famous for the way they used to cook porks, which was typically offered as a sacrifice in the temple of Jupiter on the nearby Monte Cavo. Frascati wines and history

Frascati: the most famous of Castelli Romani for several reasons: its DOCG white wine, for the several ancient Ville Tuscolane and for its history that spans since the Roman times and older thru the Medieval ages and Renaissance until now. For its proximity to Rome is one of the towns of Castelli Romani that is more appreciated by the people coming out of Rome to enjoy, now as 200 years ago, the fresh wines and the fresh air. Frascati features a vibrant city center with is Fraschette where to try the basic roman cuisine along with the refreshing white wines of the territory, ristoranti traditional and innovative gourmet, pizza and excellent its ice-cream parlours.

This winery visit will throw you again in our Roman history and how new history is created now in the exceptional wine making, from vineyards to the bottle. While enjoying the wine tasting you will learn about this terroir, mainly volcanic rock that create unique wines with strong minerality and fruit forward characteristics. You will learn how the vineyard work is done and why the vineyards should be cultivated according to the principles of sustainability and, as such, be passed on to future generations

Next, we’ll journey to the enchanting “strawberry village” of Nemi, perched overlooking the pretty volcanic lake Nemi. Known for its wild strawberries and ancient roots, Nemi offers a fascinating glimpse into local traditions.
