In this tour we try to capture the essence of the Marche and its extraordinary multiplicity which is well remarked by its plural name: it is in fact the only Italian region whose name is plural!
For centuries Marche has been a fertile land of artists, musicians, pilots and entrepreneurs. Creating beauty seems to be the Marches’ mantra. The imprint of the Marche region in Italian culture is impressive in terms of the number of personalities who were born here, in this region between the Umbrian-Marche Apennines and the Adriatic Sea: from Giacomo Leopardi, Gioacchino Rossini, Raffaello to the revolutionary Maria Montessori to today’s personalities such as Valentino Rossi and Giovanni Allevi.
A region to explore for a walk through its beautiful cities, peaceful university locations such as Macerata and Camerino or for the rowdy streets of Ascoli Piceno, the city of travertine. The Renaissance roars in the precious historic center of the Unesco heritage of Urbino while the Marches economic model drags the excellence of Italian know-how in the world.
Program
First day – ASCOLI PICENO
Arrival – check-in and Welcome aperitif. Dinner at 20:00 at a reknown local restaurant where chef Luca will prepare for you dishes of the local tradition
Second day – ASCOLI PICENO
After breakfast at the hotel, guided visit of the town. For lunch we will dive in the art of preparing the “Olive Ascolane” (Ascolane olives). In the afternoon we continue with a guided tour of the town Pinacoteca. At 6.30 pm return to the hotel and dinner at the restaurant
Third day – ASCOLI PICENO – OFFIDA – MONTEPRANDONE – SENIGALLIA
After breakfast and check out, departure for Offida. Here, always together with our guide, we will visit the wonders of this splendid village: De Castellotti civic center, Serpente Aureo Theater, Santa Maria della Rocca Church. At 12:30 we will take the bus back and we will move to a beautiful Agriturismo in the countryside where we will be able to taste the organic wines of own production along with local food specialties.At 16:00 departure for Senigallia. Fourth day – SENIGALLIA – LORETO – RECANATI – CONERO – SENIGALLIA
After breakfast an early departure at 8:00 for Loreto where together with our guide we will visit the Sanctuary. At 11:30 we will move to Recanati where we will visit Casa Leopardi. Free lunch. After lunch we will take the bus back to discover the wonders of Conero. Expected return to the hotel at around 18:00. Dinner at the hotel
Fifth day – SENIGALLIA – GRADARA – CORINALDO – SENIGALLIA
After breakfast departure for Gradara where together with our guide we will visit the Castle. Free lunch. After lunch departure for Corinaldo and guide tour of the town. At 17:00/17:30 we take the bus back to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel
Sixth day – SENIGALLIA – URBINO – CARTOCETO – SENIGALLIA
After breakfast early departure at 8:30 departure for Urbino where we will visit Palazzo Ducale and Casa di Raffaello together with our guide. Around 13:00 we will take the bus to move to Cartoceto to an oil mill where we can taste the olive oil and local specialties. Return to the hotel for 18:00, dinner at the hotel
Seventh day – SENIGALLIA – FIASTRA – MACERATA – SENIGALLIA
After breakfast departure for Fiastra where together with the guide we will visit the Abbey of the Cistercian monks, free lunch. In the afternoon guided tour of the town of Macerata: Sferisterio, Palazzo Buonaccorsi, Museo della Carrozza (Carriage Museum), Chiesa della Misericordia. At 18:00 departure for Senigallia and return to the hotel at 19:00. Dinner at a seafood restaurant on the seafront
Eight day – SENIGALLIA – ANCONA
Breakfast and check-out. Departure for Ancona and guided tour of the city.
